Greek cat sanctuary hiring caretaker to live on island, supervise 55 cats

Those who have been to the local multiplex to check out the latest installment of Mamma Mia are probably dreaming of a trip to a beautiful Greek island. If you are one of these people and you are the sort of person who would rather hang out with cats than people, you are in luck. There is a picture perfect job opportunity waiting for you.

Syros is a Greek island that is located just off the coast. The population is small (roughly 20,000) and this is a very unique place to live. God’s Little People Cat Rescue aims to provide assistance to all of the animals in this area that are in need of help. Dozens of stray cats reside on this island and they are given the help that they need by an artist named Joan.

She and her husband are more than happy to offer food and shelter to all of these cats. They have lived on the island since 2010 and have been running this cat sanctuary for some time now. The couple has since decided to move on. In order to do so, they need to find someone else who is willing to step up and take care of these cats. Their Facebook ad seems like something out of a dream.

A paid job where you get to hang out with cats all of the time? This sounds like something out of a fairy tale. There is one small catch that needs to be discussed first, though. Anyone who accepts this job is accepting responsibility for no less than 55 cats. Applicants who are nurses or trained vets are given first crack at this job.

There are also additional perks that need to be mentioned when it comes to this opportunity. In addition to living on a gorgeous island, you will also get to live a tiny house with a beautiful garden. The views are to die for as well. The ideal candidate for the position is someone who loves and appreciates cats. The job pays the equivalent of $560 US per month.
