Millions of Americans are still recovering from winter storms. Parts of the United States are expected to experience heavy snow, dangerously cold winds and other hazardous conditions over the weekend.
Western New York, along with Erie County, bore the brunt of the so-called blizzard of the century.
On Tuesday evening, 51.9 inches of snow fell in New York. At least 69 people have died in eight states as of Wednesday, according to CBS News.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncartz said Wednesday afternoon that the county medical examiner’s office said the county’s death toll had reached 37.
That number exceeds the 29 deaths reported by Blizzard 77, Buffalo’s worst storm of all time.
