1. Washing machine tricks
We all dislike washing our clothes in a machine that’s pretty soiled, so we buy expensive cleaning products to ensure that the machine stays cleans. Now, you can ditch those products and save money and time. Pour ordinary vinegar into the washer drawer (for the detergent) and put the machine on a long wash setting. It’ll be clean by the end of the cycle!
Some clothes are fur magnets. If you add a bit of vinegar into the load (with your detergent) watch how the fur never sticks to these clothes again!
2. Cleaning the bathtub
You don’t have to spend too much time scrubbing the tub any longer. Take one part warm vinegar (heat in microwave) and one part dish soap and stir both ingredients together in a bottle. Spray this solution in the bathtub and leave it sitting for 30 minutes. Come back and wipe it off with a sponge.
3. Removing tough marker stains
To remove permanent marker stains, take toothpaste and a cloth and rub it over the stain. You can also use hairspray or deodorant. Another neat trick is pouring soda over the stain and gently rubbing over it with a sponge.
4. Removing nail polish
When you spill nail polish on the hardwood, you want to act fast. If you can clean it up before it dries, use this method: Pour polish remover on top and let it sit for a minute. Then rub off with paper towel. If there is a stain that’s left underneath, then you can instantly get rid of it by using a rubber eraser. If the nail polish in on the carpet, it should be cleaned with a stain remover.
5. Cleaning your microwave
Take half a lemon and put it in a bowl. Pour some cinnamon over it. Put the bowl in the microwave and let it run for 5-10 minutes on a low power setting. Your microwave will be instantly disinfected.
6. Cleaning the kitchen
If there’s hardened fat/grease in your kitchen, here’s what to do: Mix together baking soda and vegetable oil and make it into a thick paste. Apply it to those areas of fat and grease and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Then wipe it off with soap solution and a cloth.
7. Getting rid of dust
Things always collect dust, and you obviously have other things to do than just wipe off the dust all day, right? To avoid dust build up, take a couple of drops of oil and wipe it across the area that gets dusty. Then wipe that area again with a clean paper towel. This will give everything a nice sheen and avoid dust from accumulating.
