You’ve heard this song many, many times before — but this may just be the best rendition yet!

In the video below, Celine Dion gives a chill-inducing rendition of “God Bless America” aboard the USS Harry S. Truman on CBS’s “Rockin’ for the USA – A National Salute to the US Military.” As she belted the patriotic song in front of a packed crowd and millions watching at home, the talented songstress left an entire stadium stunned.

Celine is Canadian, but the fact she’s not American born-and-bred didn’t stop her from paying tribute to all the service members fighting for our freedom — and she did not disappoint. From the very first chorus, Celine brought down the house with her jaw-dropping vocals. The addition of the band and choir accompanying the legendary singer (not to mention a few celebrity cameos) behind her on stage only adds to the patriotism and power. Even the service men and women in the crowd are brought to their feet, waving the American flag in unison.

“God Bless America” was written by Irving Berlin in 1918 and revised by him in 1938. It takes the form of a prayer for God’s blessing and peace for the nation.
