Visitors to Dubai have seen what the future of transport could look like. Xpeng X2 made a 90-minute test flight in the sky over the Emirates. It weighs only 794 pounds and its 8 propellers allow it to reach speeds of up to 81 miles per hour.

In an age of soaring gasoline prices, a zero-emission, battery-powered flying car sounds great, but the international infrastructure for cars that can travel anywhere but on the ground just doesn’t exist.
