This video is heart-wrenching to see because it features a mare that was on her way to death. She had suddenly collapsed with severe abdominal pain and no matter how hard her owners worked, they could not get her to stand on her feet.

In tears, they decided there was likely no other choice than to have her put down. Not willing to give up on his companion, another horse jumped in and saved the day. He began to bite on the mare’s neck over and over, prompting her to finally stand up.
